For every conscious Ukrainian, the ongoing war is a daily, heart-wrenching struggle. It is a constant battle for survival and an unending effort to bring our heroes back to their native soil. The process of prisoner exchanges is never easy; it is often agonizing, stretching for months, sometimes with no certainty of if or when they will ever return.
When these heroes are finally chosen for an exchange, they often do not know where they are being taken or that their long-awaited journey home has finally begun. They return to Ukraine on the brink of physical and mental exhaustion, having endured superhuman trials for months, or even years, in captivity.
To honor their sacrifice and shed light on this invisible pain, I have created a visual story titled “The Sun Returns”:
- This project was brought to life through the use of Artificial Intelligence.
- The visual narrative and the stories of the characters, though inspired by the collective tragedy of our nation, were generated using AI tools.
- It is not meant to be a perfect documentary, but rather an attempt to capture the raw, suffocating ache of not knowing where a loved one is, and the profound trauma of families waiting for years in silence.
The reality we face is overwhelming:
The Scope of Loss: This is not just about soldiers. Thousands of civilians, including many children forcibly deported from occupied territories to the aggressor’s land, remain in captivity.
Broken Lives: Every person in captivity represents a life, a family shattered into atoms by this senseless, brutal war.
Our Hope: We wait for every single one of them with bated breath. We thank them for their incredible endurance, and we demand their return.
It is high time for this to end. It is time to restore justice and allow these people to live again on free Ukrainian soil. Please take a moment to look through this story. It is a reflection of our collective hope and our shared, unhealed wound.
«Сонце повертається»: погляд на нескінченне очікування наших Героїв
Для кожного свідомого українця війна — це щоденна, розриваюча серце боротьба. Це постійна битва за виживання та нескінченні зусилля повернути наших героїв додому. Процес обміну полоненими — це завжди болісно та складно; він розтягується на місяці, часто без жодної впевненості, чи повернуться вони і коли.
Коли наших героїв нарешті обирають для обміну, вони часто не знають, куди їх везуть, або що їхня довгоочікувана подорож додому нарешті почалася. Вони повертаються в Україну на межі фізичного та психічного виснаження, переживши надлюдські випробування місяцями або навіть роками в полоні.
Щоб вшанувати їхню жертву та висвітлити цей невидимий біль, я створила візуальну історію під назвою «The Sun Returns» («Сонце повертається»).
- Цей проєкт був втілений у життя за допомогою штучного інтелекту.
- Хоча візуальна оповідь та історії персонажів натхненні колективною трагедією нашої нації, вони були згенеровані за допомогою інструментів ШІ.
- Це не спроба створити ідеальний документальний фільм, а намагання зафіксувати сильний, задушливий біль від невідомості, де знаходиться близька людина, та глибоку травму сімей, які роками чекають у тиші.
Реальність, з якою ми зіштовхуємося,, приголомшує:
- Масштаб втрат: Це стосується не лише військових, тисячі цивільних, зокрема багато дітей, примусово вивезених з окупованих територій на землі агресора, залишаються в полоні.
- Зламані долі: Кожна людина в полоні — це життя та сім’я, розбиті вщент цією безглуздою та жорстокою війною.
- Наша надія: Ми чекаємо на кожного з них, затамувавши подих, дякуємо їм за неймовірну витривалість і вимагаємо їхнього повернення.
Прийшов час, щоб це закінчилося. Час відновити справедливість і дозволити цим людям знову жити на вільній українській землі.
